Donation...

Salam..

About 2 weeks ago, i was asked by a 2nd year junior, Christina to help her for PURE HEART Program by becoming their collecting AGENT. There was a doubt deep in my heart because this charity drive is done by the Christian Society of Malaysian Student and Kelab Kebajikan at Jatinangor, Bandung.

It was a few days before i was asked, i read a friend's blog discussing about this program and his point of view make sense. The conclusion i made is we can help this program as long as the objective clear to help the people in need.Besides most locals here are Muslims to (It doesn't mean i'm objecting in helping non-Muslims)

What are my doubt??
I don't want this program become a way of people recognizing Christian is better than Islam.

However, it is A GOOD thing that the Christian society conducting this program. Finally this year they involved with helping the community like previously done a lot by IMAN (Islamic Malaysian Society, bandung).Yes,IMAN has done a few charity program.Sad thing is it doesn't involve us collectively. However, the Palestinian Charity drive was a good move.

Hopefully you guys will do something like this next time.HIDUP IMAN!!. A big applause for those who are helping and make it happen(",)

I'm proud of my friends and kosan mates who were really dedicated to contribute.Besides, we are going home to Malaysia. This many of us want to give away a lot of their belongings to the locals here(",)

The reason i Agree to help because i believe the program regardless done by any society is to HELP people in need. Thus, as a Muslim i am willing to help. Helping people is the first reason of me becoming a doctor.

Islam is Syumul(complete). When there's poor, there's the rich to help. Allah already commend us, the caliph of the world to help each other...help the people in need as stated in Al Baqarah[2] : 267

O ye who believe! Spend of the good things which ye have earned, and of that which We bring forth from the earth for you, and seek not the bad (with intent) to spend thereof (in charity) when ye would not take it for yourselves save with disdain; and know that Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise. (267)

Actually the verse above also regarding Zakat which is one of the 5 main pillar of Islam (Rukun Islam). Zakat is giving away some of your valuable things(money) to the eligible people(eg:poor people, mualaf-people who just converted to Islam). It is a must in Islam to do zakat every year like praying 5 times a day.

However Islam does not promote those who likes to help have PRIDE over ruled the reason of helping (sedekah). This is because Allah wants us to sedekah with sincerity ..not because of to show how a good person you are. However, if it can promote Islam as A good adn Syumul(complete) religon, we should do it by the name of ISLAM!!....refer to the verse below,Taken from Al-Baqarah[2] : 271

If ye publish your almsgiving, it is well, but if ye hide it and give it to the poor, it will be better for you, and will atone for some of your ill-deeds. Allah is Informed of what ye do. (271)

Wasalam.

Pain...

Salam..

This post is dedicated to my left feet..hehe.Its hurting me when i walk and preventing me from doing sports except swimming..huhu.So, i gave a special treat by giving them a new room slippers

What is PAIN? According to Mr Dorland(that's what i call Dorland's pocket Medical Dictionary),Pain is a feeling of distress, suffering or agony, caused by stimulation of specialized nerve endings.

In medical term pain sensetion is what we called as nocioception or nociperception. Nocioceptor is the pain receptor.

How we can feel pain is the connection and interaction between the nerve circuit at nocioceptor to the central nervous system(brain) and then after it signal(impulse) is interpreted the signal will be send to the appropriate area.
For example, when you touch a hot kettle, you will immediately move your hand away from the hot kettle.

Unless, your nociceptor is damage. It can happen in chronic diabetic patient because they have neuropathy which is death of nerve.Usually at the peripheral area like fingers and toes which are the common sites for gangrene in chronic diabetic patient.

Nocioceptor is important because it can prevent us from further damaging ourselves and prepare the body for recovery.

Subahannalllah...Don't you ever think how we can control this in less than seconds?? How can the brain interpret everything & decide in a short time??

Aren't we human a WONDERFUL creature which have a brain with intelligence(akal) that differentiate us with animals and plants
It must be a great force who create us....Which is ALLAH.

Al-Quran has already talk about nocioceptor...long before the discovery of it.
Those who reject our signs, we shall soon Cast into Fire;
As often as their skins, Are roasted through,
We shall change them, For fresh skins,
That they may taste, The Penalty: For Allah,
Is Exalted in Power, Wise
(Al-Quran 4:56)

"Al- Quran is not a book of science but a book of 'signs'. Thus, you won't find a direct answer. However if you read or try to find the correlation between the 'signs' with science you will be amazed.
Some people may need only one sign while others may need hundreds to believe the divine origin of al-Quran.Some would be unwilling to accept the truth after being shown thousand signs"

We live to eat or we eat to live?

NASI TIMBEL KOMPLIT...Sundanese special cuisine i found in Bandung

Salam..

Alhamdulilah, i've finish my final exam. The result will come out in 2 weeks time.
Today i want to talk about FOOD & APPETITE

Appetite is one of the desire that human sometimes find it hard to control.
That's why we sometimes craved for certain kind of food..
The result is it can cause the imbalance between food intake and the energy expenditure.

Actually, there are guidelines in eating according to our prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
From one of his hadith it which i conclude that we only eat just to support the need of your body. Therefore the stomach is divided into 3 EQUAL parts:
1.for food
2.for water/drinks
3.for air

The hadith says...

During my 1st year,I learned about nutrition and food intake in detail.
There are a lot of diseases cause by imbalance intake of food.It is one of the most common environmental cause of disease .Rather than discussing on the effect i would like to share how to prevent it..

The answer is easy..CONTROL your APPETITE..FOLLOW the RULES:FOOD PYRAMID

I don't say you cannot eat chocolates, cakes, ice cream or other fatty yummy food.I like them too (",)
Just eat them in small amount and balance it with some simple exercise...Thus just
Thus, just follow the rules. EAT when you are hungry.STOP before satiety.

A healthy lifestyle keeps the disease away
