Next experiment..

Objective: To serve a homemade Lengkong Pandan to my friends and make them happy..hehe.

Hypothesis: If you follow the instructions & measurement carefully, you will get the right morphology, taste and color of Lengkong Pandan.

Subject: My latest tutorial mates (Group4), Pak Apin(our gardener,guard,plumber..who manage the house & us) & some of my lucky classmates.

Instruction:

Discussion:
1. Cooking is like chemistry..it is important to get the ingredients balance.
2. Experience will help you make something without cautiously measure everything u put inside
3. Practice make perfect.

Conclusion:
The experiment was a success .Everything is according to plan.

P/s: my mum, bro, uncle, aunt & cousin just arrived at Bandung today. Will be their tourguide tomorrow & will not attend evening tutorial. Thus, dis a way to bribe my tutorial mates for my absence...hehe
Actually the real reason of this experiment is due to excess padan leaf Pak Apin gave to me(for bubur chacha).I don't like to waste things even they are only leaves..

A promise...

Guess what is my latest experiment...

It was a promise to my study/discussion group members to make a 'bubur chacha' for them.Usually i like to make bubur pulut hitam(my favourite)
I can't find the chacha in bandung, so my mum taught me how to make it..just use the wheat flour,a bit of salt, colouring(white, green or red)and water.Cook it first in a boiled water.Sign of a cooked chacha: it will float.

Other ingredients are like other bubur : water, sugar(brown & white),salt, coconut milk, daun pandan..

in dis Bubur chacha i add in some banana.Something unexpected happen bcoz of the banana. It makes the color turn a little bit dark. The banana also a bit 'kelat'. Is it bcoz of the getah??hoho...

Anyway..the bubur chacha turn out to be ok & i gladly serve it to my friends.

Thanks for becoming my experimental subject.hehe

LAtest mission at Pasar BAru..

Agent Aisha...u have a new task at Pasar Baru,
'Find the wedding card for our Crown Prince'
make sure its worth it ( nice & cheap of course).....Queen Mama

haha...

just making the introduction interesting..

Even though I'm across the sea away from home, I'm glad that I can help my Mum prepare My first brother's wedding. It will be on May and is the first in my family. How couldn't i be so excited about it? Plus, i like weddings....especially in my big family(involving cousins)

At the same time, my friend & ex-floor mate(at Bale Padjadjaran) also get the same mission from her sister (bride to be this coming July)....congrats King!
So, King & I headed to Pasar Baru(famous shopping center in Bandung)today .

On the way, we met Izmeer with a package in his hand.Out of curiosity, of course we asked him what is it? In summary, he send his books to Malaysia little by little (per 10kg) each week by post(by sea). This is his second week.He have to post it at Jalan Asia-Africa (at Pasar BAru). The cost is cheap...nearly 200,000rp(RM80) for 10kg.He planned not to take the contenna to send his belonging. This is impossible to me because i have a collection of books..clothes..etc.However, i know now how to send things outside Indonesia in a reasonable price.

Ok..back to the weddding card..At pasar baru
First,we skip the ground floor...Next, we explore the first floor.jln2...pusing2..nothing...go the second floor..explore the left side...nothing..try our luck on right side...Finally its there..'Yang paling pojok di ujung'

At first, all the cards i choose is between 4,000-7,000rp/card(~Rm2-3).Then, i call Queen mama for confirmation on price.."Syah,mama nak Sekitar RM1 je..Cik Lia(my aunt) buat untuk Farhan(my cousin) pun RM1.80 je.Kalau bawah RM1 lg bagus.Kalu tak mama buat di Malaysia je. "..
O..K...i already over the budget, so i try to find the cheaper cards..Its not dat difficult because the shop have variety of cards. After some informed consent(informing&getting the permission),I choose some and take the pictures to email it to the bridegroom to be (Crown prince)..

these are my favourite..they are less than RM1.50/piece:

I forgot one thing when i look for the card and think my mum will approve RM2-3 card.
Isn't it a waste to spend a lot on a wedding card??I think, when we get a wedding invitation card, no matter how expensive or magnificent it is, u will eventually throw it away. The purpose of wedding celebration ceremony is to spread the news that the celebrated couple is already married to the relatives, friends & community we life with.I learned that if a person are invited to a wedding ceremony,it is a must for him to come unless there's 'darurat' or something that may prevent him to go. Correct me if i'm wrong.Islam is simple!Wedding shouldn't be a burden to the bride/bridegroom.It suppose to be as simple& cheap as possible. The purpose & advantage of wedding is to prevent 'fitnah on 'zin'a or 'khalwat' about the newly wed and a wedding ceremony is a way to inform people that they are already married.Plus, we get to make the 'silaturrahim'(bonding) among people who are invited & the newly wed couple families tighter.

My parent always try to attend weddings of relatives & close friends. They said, this is the only way that you can reunite with the host, especially after haven't see them for years. For example, i never met my Singaporean relatives since young(been there for a wedding too)till my cousin's wedding a few months back.
Therefore,in conclusion wedding ceremony does make the silaturrahim tighter and makes you get to know your family members better and it shouldn't be a burden economically to the newly wed.

Mission Accomplish at Pasar baru..

Birthday Attack!!

Last night me & my floormates celebrate the january babies..
There are 5 girls(Matun, Atikah, Awa, Fati & Meza) celebrated their birhtday togather.
They all become 22yrs old except Awa who is 21 bcoz she was born in 1988(like me)
...PTS student.
Here are a bit of our monthly birhtday ritual:
1. We sing birhtday song & crash into the birthday girl's room.
2.Then,We become model of the night....take loads of picture with the cake
4. Birhtday girl cut the cake & we eat them.
5.The Most Awaited Ritual: Asking Killer Questions...we can ask any question we want from the
birhtday girl and she have to answer it..the secret will be keep by the members in the room.(we do this while eating the ice cream & chips...junk food)
P/s: Usually this last for two hours...usually we make a lot of noise(this is normal when 12 girls get togather(",)
Advantage: It does make us more closer..Plus, we get the chance to dig each other's secret ..hehe

Mengintai mutiara di lautan ujian

For my first homecoming entry,I would like to share what I got during a very intresting ceramah I attended 2 months ago by Ustaz Darlis Fajar.

It relates with the student life I’m living right now. However, I think, it can be applied also in the future because ‘man is a life long learner’. Everyday we may learn new things from the environment and people.A simple example is like learning the new direction to a place. Isn’t it a new knowledge and you gain it through a learning process from someone who knows the way??

So, here are the summary of what I got;

  1. The best way to lead a Student life is a balanced life that fills with academic, religious and extracurricular activities (i.e: sport, clubs or student board)
  2. Mindset on life: Qada’ & Qadar
  • always ready to faced the challenge because Allah always test us whether we realize about it or not( refer to surah Al-Ankabut below,ayyat1-4).
  1. Alif Lam Min

  • there’s a solution in every hardship (refer to surah Al-insyirah,verse 94)
  • always ask from Allah whatever you desire with doa and prayer
  • Leave your selfishness and ego behind!!

  1. Repeating as learning; Allah actually set us an example by making al-Quran repeat the same stories in a few of it surahs…Why Allah do this? This is because repeating can make us understand it more clearly and memorize it easier.
  2. Monkey see, monkey do;

It doesn’t mean you have to be a monkey…hehe..the message is you repeat the positive things you see or observe. Allah give us ‘akal’ to differentiate good and bad. Thus, that makes the difference between human and monkey.

  1. Believe that Success will always be yours.
  2. Just Go with the Flow….follow your own destiny wisely.
  3. Try to get out from the ‘resting zone’.Make the effot to be better.
  4. DO IT!! Doa,Usaha,Ikhlas,Tawwakal….i like this mnemonic. I make it as my motto..hehe

Actually the message he tries to convey was something that is logic and the best part of it, he relates it with our beloved holy Al-Quran.

i'm back..
